Child Support
Child support in the state of Texas is determined by a very exact and specific formula, as laid out in the Texas Family Code. The formula itself is based on the paying parent's net resources and the number of children from the marriage. There are situations where it is appropriate to deviate from the formula set out in the Texas Family Code. Which parent will be responsible for paying child support is determined either through a mutually agreed-upon decision or through a decision handed down by the court.

Parental Rights
In this day and age, neither parent will be automatically granted custody of their children in a divorce. Both mothers and fathers have equal rights to their children. If you need legal representation to protect your interests and help see that your parental rights for visitation or custody are not at risk, we advise you contact our firm.

Modifications of Child Support
In certain cases, after a divorce or separation from your child's parent has been finalized and orders for child support have been handed down, circumstances may change warranting the need to adjust the current child support orders. If you would like to seek modifications of a child support order, contact our firm today. We will evaluate your situation and advise you on how best to proceed.

Modifications of Child Custody After a judge determines child custody in a divorce case or separation from your child's parent, the parents are expected to follow the child custody order for the best interest of their child(ren). In some instances, however, modifications may need to be made for the benefit of either the child or one of the parents. In such cases, we recommend you contact our firm so that we can advise you of your legal options. .

Parenting Time & Visitation Rights
We know how important it is for each parent to maintain a relationship with their child, even after the parents have split up. If you are currently in the middle of a divorce or separated from your child's parent we advise you contact a knowledgeable attorney from our firm so that we can advise you on how to best protect your parenting time & visitation rights.

Parental Relocation
Once child custody has been determined and approved by the court, the primary parent must receive approval from a judge in order to move out of state with their child unless both parties agree. If you wish you move your child out of state, or you wish to file a motion to prevent your ex-spouse or ex-partner from moving out of state with your child, contact our firm.

Visitation
Even after a couple gets divorced, they still have certain rights and responsibilities towards their child(ren). As part of divorce proceedings, these responsibilities will be laid out, especially in regards to child custody, child support and visitation rights.
